Community schools offer an alternative to the local public school. They are free and open to all students and focused on meeting student needs for success. Community schools are among the top-performing schools in the nation.

Our educational approach has five principles at its core. These principles provide a strong foundation for learning and include:
1) Teaching compassion and understanding, 2) Setting high expectations for all students, 3) Providing a safe and secure learning environment, 4) Using integrated arts and technology in classrooms, and 5) Never accepting failure as an option.
Teaching compassion and understandingWe believe that happy students are learning students. Our staff are dedicated and highly trained professionals who consider each child as an individual. We respect the developmental needs of all children, and will work to make sure that every student has a foundation for success.
Setting high expectationsGood enough is not an option at Columbus Humanities. We aim to instill a sense of ambition and drive in all students. We teach our students that the world is competitive and getting ahead takes more than just book smarts—it takes grit and determination.
Providing a safe and secure environmentWe care about the well-being and development of each child. We insist on a secure and orderly school. We address every aspect of security, from building codes and safety procedures to codes of conduct and character education. Columbus Humanities has a state of the art camera system, employs a full-time security officer, and extensively trains staff to ensure the safest learning environment for all students.
Using integrated arts and technologyWhen you look in our classrooms, you will see students creating, pretending, dancing, singing, and engaged. Additionally, our classrooms are equipped with modern technologies that keep students interested and focused on learning.
Never accepting failure as an optionWe teach our students that failure is part of learning—you have to be wrong before you can be right. We push students to keep trying when learning something new and to not be afraid of failing, as long as you never give up. Who dares wins!
